I think the best methid of building an engine mount would be to have a jig
like William Wynns but for those of us who will build only one engine mount
read on.
 I dont know how you are building your engine mount but what I did was to
make a false firewall so as not to damage the real firewall while welding
the engine mount. I then marked the false firewall where the tray should be
vertically and horizontzlly. Then determine the distance from the firewall
that the tray should be and clamp the tray firmly in place and then cut
each tube to fit individually. Be sure and check alignment often to make
sure that the tray is still level and square to the firewall. check

has built several airplanes and this is his suggested way of building.
