Another possibility is a larger carb'. I seem to remember a discussion a while back on the Type 4. Being the base engine is fuel injected, I would think there are some high performance racing shops that might be able to help in that area. Nice thing about fuel injection is the reliability at altitude. I might be all wet so if I am, feel free to flame me. (Hey, I'm into whips and chains!)
