Kevin - the KR aircraft would not fall into the E-LSA category because ( at 
least my understanding of the rules) is that category is reserved for kit 
aircraft that are more than 51% complete. Which the KR aircraft are 
definitely not!
The KR aircraft would have to be registered as an Experimental Amateur 
built - which is actually more advantageous in that you can qualify for a 
Repairman's Certificate for that aircraft. A KR (in my opinion) might if 
properly built and equipped meet the LSA criteria for Weight, top speed and 
stall speed.
