Since I bought it (and used it), I've taken the community college painting class, where the instructor voiced his opinion that it was a great "primer" gun, but wouldn't put out enough material for a good paint job. I've heard other opinions too, and I managed to paint the bottom of my plane OK, but when it came to my car, I used an old DeVillbis that I've had for 20 years instead. I suspect that it's not really a "true" HVLP gun, but is something of a "regulated" version. I guess the jury's still out in my mind, but if I was strapped for cash, I'd paint the rest of my plane with it, and probably do no worse...
