I agree wholeheartedly, but I just made this plea four days ago, and you see
how much good it did! For those who just plain don't know how to do it, in
Outook Express you open the message you want to reply to, and under "File"
choose the "Properties" tab, and then the "Details" tab, and the original
poster's address is in there somewhere, and you can copy and paste it from
there. Usually though if you just hit "Reply" you'll get the "Original
Message" displayed below your new message, and their return address is
highlighted in blue, which you can then copy and paste into the "To" box,
and delete almost everything else.

To copy and paste, put the cursor on one end of the text string and push the
left button, and then slide it over the text string to turn it all blue,
then hit "control" and the letter C (at the same time) to copy it, then put
the cursor up in the "To" box, place a point, and then hit "control" and the
letter V (at the same time) to paste the address into the To box. If you
accidently screw something up, hit Control-Z to undo it. I feel 99.9% sure
that other email systems such as AOL or MSN have some similar (if not
easier) way to send it to the original poster, rather than the list. Any
system that can't handle that deserves to be unloaded and replaced with
something that CAN, like Outlook Express from www.microsoft.com, which comes
free with all versions of Windows. I don't know what else I can do for you
guys other than sit you down behind a computer and demonstrate in person.

Of course one solution is for people to put their email addresses (or a clue
as to what it would be) in their signatures, but I guess it would still take
a 2x4 to make some of you guys actually USE it...
