You really shouldn't be using ailerons in a stall anyway. That is a good way to wind up in a spin. Shortening the outboard side of the ailerons would actually help to keep a turning stall or cross control stall from becoming a spin.
Don't mean to say that this is the correct side to shorten or start a long philosophical debate on the subject, just pointing out like you did that there are a whole lot of considerations to a change like this and you need to know what you are getting into before making this kind of change.
