Clay,
I have the same but a 2s and I made mine with 3/4" x 1/16" aluminum flat bar
placed on top of the longeron cross braces under the turtle deck. Make an X
with the antenna mounted in the center and you have a good ground plane.
Search the archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/search or
http://www.escribe.com/aviation/krnet/ and you will find lots of
suggestions.

Subject: KR> ELT antenna

My ELT is a AK-450, I would like to mount the antenna some where out of
sight,
however the instruction call for a 36 inch ground plane. This is difficult
to do in a
KR-2. What are some solutions to make a acceptable installation? Is a 36
inch
ground plane standard?
Thanks:
Clay Brod
