Both the Pearl and Lone Star breweries, labels, and trademarks were bought out some years ago by Pabst. They are still sold here in Texas under their original labels, but are custom brewed by the parent company somewhere other than their original breweries. As a matter of fact, the historic Pearl brewery here in San Antonio sustained a fire to part of the plant just a few weeks ago, and continues to be vacant but scheduled for renovation (slowly), as an historic landmark. If you've had "St. Pauli Girl" beer, both the Pearl and Lone Star beers have a similar taste (IMHO)... even their "light" beers are a bit more than most American tastes care for.
