Mark,

I cannot tell for sure, but I believe mine are in the region of 12 cm. The 
bracket is thick aluminium sheet (about 8mm thick). The weights are lead, 
airfoil shape. They are screwed in place through the bracket. I can send 
you a picture if you want.

Those of you that have made aileron counterbalance arms, how long is the 
bracket leg the weight sits on?  Also, what material did you make your 
brackets from?
