A great place for a West Coast Gathering would be Marysville, California. It is the same place they have the EAA Goldenwest Fly-in. Other than Goldenwest the airfield is none controlled and has a great location. It is about 40 miles north of Sacramento. I grew up in this area and still know a few people around the airport. The airport manager is very supportive of events like this.
