NetHeads,

I've received a few inquiries lately as to what's happened to the escribe
KRnet archive. It's been dead for at least a week, and I don't see any
evidence that it'll come back either. It's not all that great for searching
anyway, (see the real KRnet search engine at
http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp for any searches you'd like to
conduct), and the advertising was barely bearable anyway. The list has it's
own built-in archive at http://mylist.net/private/krnet/ , but you need to
know your KRnet password to get there. I suspect that about 1% of you know
your passwords, so rather than pester me for it (which I can't help you with
anyway), you can got to http://mylist.net/options/krnet , fill in the yellow
blank with your email address, leave the password blank BLANK (since
presumably you don't know it anyway) and down near the bottom hit the
"REMIND" button. Your password will be emailed to you about 10 seconds
later, and now you'll know it! Then go to http://mylist.net/private/krnet/
, choose "view by date" for 2004, and scroll to the bottom for the latest
KRnet postings. If you don't like your password, go to
http://mylist.net/listinfo/krnet , enter your email address in the yellow
box at the very bottom (unsubscribe or edit settings), sign on to your
settings page, and change it to something you can remember easier. You'll
also discover that you can do things like change to the digest version, put
a "hold" on your mail while you're on vacation (although I think I'd just
switch to the digest so you don't miss anything), or unsubscribe altogether.
And don't forget you can always download the digests from
http://www.bouyea.net/ also (going all the way back to day one of KRnet).

This is purely a matter of self preservation, as I feel most of you can
handle this, if you'd just give it a try...
