After years of boat building (the type that floats) my brother has developed an allergic reaction to epoxy and can only work with it wearing a full protective suit, therfore, he only uses polyester now.

Example: Polyester resin smells awful, but it is not nearly as reactive/toxic to most people as epoxy. Care should be taken to keep any chemical solvent off of your skin.
