This subject has had a lot of airing, Someone had a shot at my comments for a 5 G strong mass balance arms and mounting points. I was looking at Mark L's photo's of the gathering and noted his comments on Marties near disastrous elevator jamming by his broken baggage Box support brackets.
We must be very careful and make ALL our mounting brackets and parts to a strong and safe quality. Marty was very lucky, but it had not turned out so well, they would properly never found a cause of the fault, only to say another Home Built Aircraft has crashed. ( Thank God it turned out OK) We may not all pull 6 G's, but look at what can happen if the little things are not strong enough. I lost a friend a short time back in a Corby Starlet, a Forced landing and it tipped over, with no roll over protection he did not have a chance.
