I believe Steve Bennett is of the opinion that the stock (of either stroke)
Type 4 crank is less likely to break than the high dollar 4340 Scat cranks
under aircraft usage.  If you've never heard of broken Type 4 cranks, you
need to email Steve Makish (srmak...@aol.com).  I heard him say Saturday
that he'd broken three Type 4 cranks (two Scats and one stocker, I believe
it was) and Bob Lester's broken one also.  Now they're both running a
Corvair, which has an excellent history running stock crank and rods...
