If you're seriously thinking of using a Corvair, you should probably join
the CorvAircraft lisd (which I also run), by sending a message to
corvaircraft-j...@mylist.com . Engines come up there on a regular basis.
There's more info on which engines to buy, and links to even more detailed
lists, at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/corvair/donors.html . Don't
just get ANY Corvair engine, which is why you'll need William Wynne's
conversion manual (link on the previously mentioned page). How much power
you get out of it depends on how fast you spin it. For small diameter prop
KRs (54"), you'll easily get 110 hp. I expect my bored out Vair to put out
around 135 hp at 3600 rpm. Lots more info on Corvair engines on my website
at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/corvair ...
