I think Larry's point was two-fold: 1) Why was it important to send this tidbit of information to 425 KRnet subscribers? 2) If you'd have gone $200, why DIDN'T you, and why complain about it now to the list? There are some folks who try to "police" KRnet traffic behind the scenes, and I don't have a problem with that. In fact, I'd encourage it. Otherwise, I come off as the bad guy making all the "collars", and everybody would think (maybe KNOW) I'm a jerk. I post my pet peaves to the list occasionally, just to remind people what the "rules" are, and to shame people into refraining from such posts in the future, but I think there's a place for several people privately emailing offenders and letting them know what's accepted and what's not. That keeps it off the list, and keeps people from getting their feelings hurt publicly (which tends to magnify the effect). The bottom line is that I've just about given up trying to make people act like I think they ought to act, so others are trying to take up my slack. If you need some pointers on what's accepted and what's not, check out KRNetiquette at http://www.krnet.org/info.html . But the question you'll see repeated is "do 425 people need to spend their time reading my post"? In this case, I'd say no...
