Hi Marty:
The answer is yes, you can build from plans the KR-2S.  Rand offers pre made
parts as well as the "Kit" which is raw materials (wood, foam, extrusions
and hardware) to build with.  When building a modified KR some of the pre
made parts won't fit.  If your desire is to stretch it here or there, your
best bet would be to only buy pre made parts when you are sure you can
