Tommy,

Last year I bought a KR in Columbus, Ohio. To trail it home to Houston, I
converted my boat trailer to a flat bed. The 2 wheel trailer was designed for
a 25ft MacGregor. I removed the bunkboards and cut 5/8 inch 4x8 plywood sheets
to fit the trailer frame, using U bolts to secure them. 2-2x8x10ft planks
formed the ramp. I placed the wings under the plane, bedded with 1" styrofoam
sheets from Home Depot. Then I deflated the tires to about 20psi. The tail
wheel was bolted to a piece of aluminum angle that was in turn secured to the
flooring with deck screws. I put pieces of 2x4 in front and behind the mains
to prevent rolling and strapped the wheels down with 1" ratchet straps from
Harbor Freight.

The plane rode well and arrived with no damage. These boat trailers sell
locally for about $400.

Good luck,
