You can always buy liability only. Most of the KR2s are cheap (relatively) to build. Buying hull insurance seems, in most cases, a poor choice. Of course, I have heard of one person who spent $90K, mostly electronics, on his KR2. The C150, on the other hand is not inexpensive. Hull insurance makes sense.
