One of the points of exhaust wrap is to keep EGT higher so that there is a higher temp differential as the gas exits the tube... this is supposed to translate into increased HP... some small amount per deg.
However, if you didn't plate your exhaust, it will corrode. I was advised NOT to wrap my exhaust, so I had it ceramic coated instead. I don't have lots of EGT data as I have only done static tests so far... and have no "BEFORE" temps. If you want the numbers I can get them from my construction log next time I'm at the hangar. -- Ross http://n541ry.us > At 07:46 PM 10/30/2003 -0500, you wrote: > >hi all my egt temps are higher now after warping i guess this is normal but > >like to see if others experienced the same. old temps 1200 1250 climb out now > (714) 968-9852 > lar...@socal.rr.com > > > _______________________________________________ > see KRnet list details at http://www.krnet.org/instructions.html -- ___________________________________________________ OperaMail free e-mail - http://www.operamail.com OperaMail Premium - 28MB, POP3, more!
