RE: I plan to use S/P as the only primer. I think if you use SP untill you are satisfied with the finish, you are good to go. I used 2 coats of SP, wasn't satisfied with the finish, didn't have enough cash to continue with SP, so used the PPG primer that goes with my paint. My application with SP was strictly for the purpose of filling the pin holes and it didn't get all of them.
