Dan, I'm glad it worked out so well as you mounted your gas spring in a totally different location than I did. I suspect the mechanical forces are very similar though. I must confess that I came across that gas spring much by chance after trying several from "Auto Zone". My pickup truck donated one of it's limbs for about a month before I got the gas spring replaced. Too often the solution to a problem is right under our nose and we fail to recognize it.
