Has anyone ever actually experienced flutter on the rudder? I just have wimpy springs that take out the slack. I normally keep my feet on the pedals to keep the ball centered, but have been known to remove them from time to time.
I have considered putting a bellcrank right behind the seat and running the rudder pedals to it then running cables from the bellcrank to the rudder. That is so that I can stand on the brakes and be putting the tension on the bellcrank instead of the rudder horns. I can't brake real hard now without worrying about ripping the horns out of the rudder. It would also give me the added benefit of keeping a constant tension on the rudder cables. This setup would still let the pedals flop a little, but the cables from the rudder to the belcrank would be under tension. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Heath <da...@alltel.net> Sent: Oct 27, 2003 5:56 PM To: kr...@mylist.net Subject: Re: KR>Balancing elevator. but actually Rudder Cables. Actually, we are talking elevator balancing, at least that is how the conversation got started. I was talking about keeping the cables taught and the subject went on to rudder cables.
