first half, as I consider it NOT the way to do it.  It's far easier and more
reliable to keep the stock top cover, which retains the bypass valves.  The
other outlet hole at the former filter location is welded shut, and the
other remote cooler port is plugged.  I also "moved" the oil pressure sensor
location a tad (note welded up hole next to it) so my VDO sensor would fit
in the hole without interference.  What's shown here is a stock Corvair
switch, which is just there to keep bugs at the moment...
