This comes off the Bonanza list, I know nothing at all about it but for
those who do want inflight weather, there are a lot of options coming on the
market.

>>>We are marketing a new product for weather in the cockpit from WxWorx.
>>>It is a portable satellite receiver and uses the XM satellite radio
>>>satellites. It will display current weather data on a PC such as a
>>>laptop, tablet, or EFB. There is also an option to display the weather
>>>on a PDA. The receiver with the PC software is $860.00. To receive the
>>>data, you subscribe to XM radio, they charge a $75 activation fee plus
>>>$50 per month (the first month is prorated). The PC software includes
>>>the following graphical products: Doppler Radar, Cloud Echo Tops, Metars,
>>>Lightning Strikes, TAFs, Sigmets and Airmets, and Winds Aloft. The data
>>>is continously streamed down to the receiver. Every 5 minutes, the
>>>entire USA Radar data is broadcast. It has a loop feature that shows the
>>>movement of the Radar data or the cloud tops data. Other data comes at
>>>various intervals, such as Metar and TAF which are sent every 12 minutes.
>>>There is also a Patented feature from WxWorx Storm Cell Identification
>>>and Tracking (SCITs) offering 15-minute storm path projection for the
>>>worst storm centers. The radar data pixel is a 2 x 2 km, the same size as
>>>the WSI unit.

The satellites can be received anywhere in the US where there is a view of
the southern sky and since the receiver is portable, it can be carried to
the home, office, hangar, or boat. The receiver is about the size of a
portable CD player and the antenna is about half the size of a mouse and
just sets on the glare shield. If anyone is interested, they can contact me
off list.
