Barry,
     Take it from one who knows, the original retractable landing gear I see
on your newly acquired aircraft is very prone to folding on landing so
change it before you fly.  There are many fixed taildragger or nose gear
configurations available.  There are even retractable systems out there but
the one you have installed now is just not very good.
