Take a look at the pressure distribution diagram (sketch) about halfway down 
the page at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/cowling.html to confirm what 
you've found. This will vary with a lot of things, but you may be surprised 
to find that the pressure around your cowling isn't always as you'd expect.
