We've had another round of virus discussions. I'd like to help clear up a
few things. I got one this morning that APPEARED to come from KRnet, but in
reality it came directly from a guy on KRnet who had my name in his address
book because he'd replied to one of my messages at some point. Most of the
viruses these days will "spoof" the return address using an address randomly
chosen from the victim's address book, so you have no idea who it actually
came from. Berating people for sending a virus to the list is a waste of
time, as is contacting the guy that you THINK sent you the virus, because
the return address on these things is rarely genuine.

The list refuses almost all attachments, and just in case some new variety
comes along, it had better be under 20K to make it through the size filter.
Most viruses are bigger than that. And I'll say it again, you're a complete
idiot if you don't have some sort of anti-virus protection these days, AND
keep it current!
