I drilled my lead weights with no problems and no cooling or lub agents.

The bit tends to fill up rather quickly with the soft material and you need
to keep pulling the bit out of the hole to empty the lead but other than
that , no problems. Are you using a GOOD sharp bit?

I just spent three days disassembling an ultralight type aircraft that
a friend crashed last summer and put himself in the hospital for
about five months and is now in a wheelchair. My next project is
to build a paint booth, finish priming the KR and get it painted.
It seems the time till Red Oak is flying by! I could get 15 hours
of free flying time in a kitFox if I had the time. LIFE IS TOO SHORT!
