For a VW: Be sure you have the right type of case - some manufacture of cases were bad Case savers Preparation of the prop end bearing Insure that you have a good crank - use only forged crank Oil cooler Distributor - remove and plug hole or add electronic ignition ( not required ) Accessory case for alternator and magneto Possibly adding dual plugs That is all I can think of right now.
