Could you not just insert a turnbuckle on both sides and avoid replacing the cable?

All the stories of new planes flying. I was mentally prepared to lift of the ground and fly down the runway landing safely on the ground and then do it again. I lifted off the ground and landed again just fine but I feel that my left leg keeps me from getting full stick travel. Modification ideas? I don't have turn buckles to adjust so I would need to make new cables, a possibility. I could take my left side stick out and bend it to the right. Most likely. Did anyone else have the same problem?
