My real job is flying 787s across the  Pacific.  We use CPDLC (Controller Pilot 
Data Link Communications) to communicate with ATC for everything.  I wish the 
US would use it domestically -- it is awesome.  Clearances uploaded to FMS (you 
still have to push a button to accept it-- no hackers).  No more language or 
reception barriers.
