Paul,

What is a "pic limping" design?  Also,  when using epoxy you don't 
necessarily want a pressure joint that squeezes out "too much" of the glue.
Epoxy is a bit of a gap filling glue, unlike earlier glues that 
needed a super tight, 100 percent contact joint.  Prep the wood to 
get good glue
penetration and don't squeeze it all out before it can penetrate.
