There was some talk about me giving a presentation on how to prepare for 
off-field landings at the Gathering, but I think it was OBE'd (overcome 
by events) by more meaningful presentations, so there's no real slot for 
this, other than the campfire.

if it's in a bean field!  That works too!

Most important thing is to practice power-off landings...pull the power 
back to idle 8 miles out and see if you can make a decent landing.  The 
more of this you do, the better prepared you'll be when the big fan up 
front quits.  You know what they say...the fan keeps the pilot cool!

Given that we el-cheapo KR pilots gravitate toward cheap 
automotive-based "alternative" engines, practicing is a worthwhile effort...
