Hi All, Back now from an epic adventure out to OSH with three Young Eagles. We were parked out at the north end of the North40 - Siberia! We were camped just under Harrison Ford's windows at the Hilton's. This was the first time I had second thoughts about camping... (Old or contrast - I'm not sure.) Tried to get them to park us at B2OSH, but no joy.
Highlights: B2OSH Party Sunday night. Great forums - Go Bonanza Maintenance Guru Bob Ripley! - Great KR Forum Mark - Thanks for showing Cedric your plane! Fun Concerts Star Wars introduced by Harrison Ford! (though he seemed a bit drunk) Hoover Dinner! The ever enchanting Seaplane Base - Thanks to Mark Hangen for giving the kids a float experience! Beautiful Vintage and Classics Delightful Ultralights Para Gliders! And as always - planes planes planes! This was my 5th flight out to OSH - first time was 1987. I love Oshkosh (still have a hard time calling it Airventure), but need at least a 3 year break between visits. Advice: Go! Lots of folks I talk to are put off by the thought of high traffic. The Ripon-Fisk arrival is an amazing system that is easy and works! Airventure is unlike any other aviation event, or maybe its like all of them combined. After Airventure I dropped the gals off at the EAA Air Academy camp, and headed up to Canada to visit family with my son. Have to appreciate our traveling machines! (I snuck pictures of my planes (Cessna 140 and Osprey 2 amphib) from pervious years into the video.) Cheers, Owen Hughes
