Hi Guys & Gals, I just returned from a nice long flight over central Wisconsin. No we have not left for Florida yet. The move date is July 14th as we had a slight delay. Anyway, what a beautiful flight and an absolutely gorgeous sunset. ADS-B is an awesome tool to have and now I will not fly without it. I have seen so much more traffic that otherwise I would not have seen it. This evening I was heading direct into the sun when traffic showed up on the screen. It was headed direct towards me and was only 1100 feet lower than I was flying at. As he neared his icon turned orange to warn me of danger. If he had gotten close enough it would have turned red as immediate danger but he was too far below me for that to happen. Just yesterday I was flying and two targets appeared at 500 feet above me and headed direct towards me. These two guys were flying parallel to each other at what I estimated to be about a mile or so apart. I flew right between them and I honestly doubt that I would have seen them without the ADS-B. I watched them on the screen as they continued on and they never split up. I bought my receiver from Open Flight Solutions for $250 and it is by far worth more than that. They are working on AHRS upgrade for this unit and also an out upgrade. By far one of the best $250 I invested in my plane.
