Ok Mark, I will start the group off with a new topic. Good morning all. I am a new KR owner and am very much enjoying seeing the very good information being passed on amongst the group.
I basically have a KR in a box that once flew. In general the aircraft is in good shape, needs paint but the biggest problem is an engine. I have a vast background starting off as a diesel mechanic in my younger days to Marine engineer in the navy for 5 years then on to industry for 15 as a certified millwright and now working in a company as an R&D engineer. I am not afraid of building, rebuilding, modifying anything or just plain out making it work. My KR is currently set up for a VW 1800cc that I have here in a box.. it appears to me that all of the components are there however, I have never touched on of these before and would much rather have a complete engine that I could tear down and rebuild. So.. does anyone out there have a VW 1800 complete but in need of a rebuild that I could buy at a reasonable price. The next question is I am looking for a set of plans that I could borrow and or look at? I received the aircraft without plans and there are some things I need to grasp about the original lay out of this awesome little bird.
