I only can tell you my decision why whe choosed for the bmw r1200gs.
Weight is low, about 99kg included prop (10kg) muffler, gearbox, mount, 
cowlings.
10/12 liter p/hour.
110 hp
In europe you can buy the gearbox and a plug computer, whe will try to use the 
original computer but if doesnt work we will by the plug and play.
One of the cherry bx2 builders made a video on youtube about the bmw engine. 
Search on youtube at    cherry  bmw 1200
And for the gearbox info Google takeoff  bleidiesel.
if we have the engine running with the original computer I will let you 
know.(this will be in a few months)
