The poster asks about "low profile", I assume because he's concerned about them fitting within wheel pants.? I've gone through a lot of tires and have really investigated tire nomenclature.? What I've learned is that the only number you can count on is the "5" in the designation above.? Outside tire diameter may or may not be anything close to 11 inches.? It depends on the manufacturer. It's similar to the way prop makers measure pitch - it's all over the map.? Another designation that will give you more precise or predictable numbers is to look for 4.10/3.50/5 tires.? Some odds and ends on this subject: The worst tires I've ever bought were from Aircraft Spruce.? They were called TON-KEEP, made in Viet Nam and lasted about 30 take-offs and landings.? I had a blowout while taxiing to get fuel down at Brown Field and that was very fortunate since I was headed out to the middle of the Mojave Desert the next day (Christmas) and would have really been in a bad position out there in the middle of nowhere with a blown tire.? I had tread showing through so flying on those tires was just stupid but I couldn't believe they would wear out as fast as they did I guess.? Just being cheap.? It was that blowout that started my investigation into tire sizes so if the OP will go back in the archives to last Christmas and read my postings regarding tires you may learn something.? The best tires I've had over time have been Cheng Shin's.? I bought my first ones from Desser back in 2006 but they no longer sell them last I looked.? I've since found them, sometimes, on eBay.? Aircraft Spruce sells a Cheng Shin 11x4.00-5.? Spruce calls them Lamb - which was for many years the traditional KR tire.? Spruse still calls them Lamb tires but they're made by Cheng Shin.? Great tires, but you'll need to just try your luck as far as them fitting underneath your wheel fairings.? I replaced my blowout tires with some Cheng-Shin's off of eBay, bought one at a time.? They are only 2 ply but are holding up very well so far. I've got another set of new tires as back-up and carry one in baggage along with a new tube but the 2-ply Cheng Shin's are doing fine so far.? My point is you can't derive very much info from what's marked on the tire.? Outside diameter and width will vary by manufacturer, all with the same designation on the side of the tire.? Check out the archives for more tire information.? Mike KSEE ? ____________________________________________________________ If You Have Gas, Bloating, Constipation or Upset ...
