If you go to <http://www.krnet.org/mvn2008/>, 9 photos from the bottom you will see a photo of George McHenry's Lyc O-235 mounted in his KR. By taking a look at the position of the dynafocal ring for his L2C model, you can estimate roughly how far the engine was from the firewall. It was snug, but not so tight that you couldn't get in there to work on it. I never measured it, but did see it in his hangar a number of times. That was one performing KR. I know George had his CG right.
