After 4 flights I made a new bracket to mount the Bowden cable throttle
installation for the Zenith carb. I removed the throttle lever mounted on
the left side in the cockpit to install a push knob control on the
instrument panel. Logic for the lever quadrant and the push knob are
reversed. So, had to reverse the set up at the carb. Two reasons for the
change: Get more elbow room in the tiny KR-2 cockpit and better throttle
control especially on short final for landing. The new Bowden cable has a
Teflon lining for much smoother action. Here is a picture of the Zenith
with accessories ready to put back in the airplane. The carb and
accessories you see in the picture weigh 6.4 pounds. Amazing how an ounce
here and there adds up. Next thing you know you are weighing an eight
hundred pound airplane; fuel and me puts it just about at gross.

The red bracket bolts to the center of the Diehl Adapter Case on the back of
the 2180 VW at the mag location. I am using the Compufire electronic
ignition, so that location works for me. I had previously shortened the Y
tube for the intake manifold to raise the carb to clear the strut braces for
the nose gear. Everything is a trade off.

Thanks to Chris Gardiner and Chris Prata for their advice and help on this
carb re-work.
