Had a nice flight this morning to breakfast in Pagosa Springs, CO roughly 100
nm north from Los Alamos. Flew there along with a 200 hp RV-8, a 180 hp RV-7,
a 160 HP RV-6, a Cirrus SR-20 and a Tri-Pacer. By comparison, my O-200 powered
KR is a couple of knots faster than the Cirrus SR-20, seems to fly dead even
with the 160 HP RV-6, is just a few knots (7 - 10) slower than the 180 HP RV-7,
and gets badly smoked by the 200 hp RV-8. The Tri-Pacer got a 10 - 15 minute
head start for a 100 mile trip and arrived in the pattern at the same time as
the KR both ways. This was cruising there at 10,500' and home at 11,500'.
Beautiful flight in the snowy mountains today.

This weekend I swapped out the standard 100W aircraft landing lights for a pair
of 11W LED landing lights from SuperBright LEDs.com. These LED lights were
made specifically as drop in replacements for the 100W Aircraft Landing lights,
so no modifications were needed. Cost was $20 per light with $10 shipping.
