Karl. I purchased a Ohaus Tripple Beam Balance Many years ago, They may be expensive but they are bloody good, Have often measured down to 0.5 gms , 2.5 gms total no problem.
The only thing I would suggest is to get a piece of rubber tube with a cut in the side approx 5/8"long & place under the tray & this keeps the knives off the anvil when not in use. Robin.
