That is pretty much what I do every time I move a plane.  I have a
landscape type trailer with side rails that are about a foot over the
deck of the trailer.  I put a long 2 X 12 across the back, roll the
plane up some ramps so it is on the board, strap the wheels down to the
board, then with one person on each side we slide the board forward on
the side rails to the front.

I took a 2 x 12 across the top of the trailer bolted it down and I took
another 2 x 12 and extended off the back of the trailer and tied down
the tailwheel. I pulled my KR number times from different locations like
this with no problem. Need a nice riding trailer so you don't beat the
engine around. I tied everything down at the wheels and let the gear
move.I slid the wings underneath the fuselage with foam in between them
and I put carpet over the top and nail the carpet down to the trailer.
