I've always considered a day at the airport to be a fun day. NOT
YESTERDAY ! Cranked up the KR to fly out for breakfast with the rest
of the local fliers and had no intercom. Changed batteries and still
no intercom. Worked for 20 to 30 minutes to find the problem and
still no intercom. Called the fliers at the destination and told
them not to worry, I'm grounded.

In the mean time, a transient in a C-172 had a flat tire on the
nose. Would have cost him $250+ to have it repaired. I had all my
tools in the truck so we attacked the flat with vigor. Pulled the
tail down on the ramp to get the nose off the ground. Had to remove
the wheel cover so started to remove bolts. Removed one too many
bolts with the wheel off the ground and the strut extended to the
point where it blew strut oil all over me and the passenger helping
me. D#MN*!!!!!!!!!! Worked past the screw-up and got the tire
repaired and back on the airplane. Went home and threw the clothes
in the washer. WRONG!!! Now the utility room and washer smell like
oil that sat in the rain for 50 years. Wife upset, bad back, have to
plant shrubs today before the rain sets in, and still no intercom!

Life is good..................
