A couple of interesting KR items popped up this morning. One is a
gorgeous turbo-Subaru powered KR-2S with less than 500 hours on it.
Owner wants to part it out unfortunately.

The other item is a copy of Homebuilt Aircraft with Sparky's original KR
on the cover. An interesting story on that was - for the photo shoot
Bill Cox was squeezed into the left seat with Sparky in the other. I
think the idea was that since Bill Cox had flown so many different
aircraft in his role as an aviation writer, he figured he'd have no
trouble with the KR. Well, in order to get the plane back on the ground
they had to switch seats while in the air - an almost impossible task in
an original-sized KR-2. Somehow they got it done and the story ended
without incident. I think only the left seat had rudder pedals on
Sparky's plane.

I know from having had an original KR-2 that with two people in it the
rearward CG shift makes the stick incredibly touchy, especially if the
normal CG location tends aft as it did with mine. I can understand Bill
Cox having trouble.
