Someone wrote an e mail asking what I meant about ride
bearings....ooops...voice text.
     What I meant to say in short is that on engines with stroker cranks
and oversize pustons/matching cylinders is that there can be excess
material on the piston skirt at the bearing journal that needs to be taken
off. What can and did happen to me a cpl of times is that the skirt came in
contact with the crank causing the piston to cock sideways in the cylinder
which caused a compression ring failure resulting in loss of compression on
that cylinder. Shaving off the excess material does not require a
rebalancing of the pistions as the material is minimal. Just a few
thousandths.
