Mike,

Concur to just keep it simple. I bought new low cost VFR gauges from either
Aircraft Spruce or Wicks to get the airplane up in the air. Just a
Airspeed, altitude, compass, and VSI to begin with. I used a handheld radio
for
years as well with no transponder. I also had just a handheld GPS with
homemade mount in the panel. Over the years since I've done upgrades to
improve
my quality of flight. Make access to your panel easy and you'll find making
the upgrades later simple. Think about where, how you will upgrade in the
future and leave some panel space empty for the potential upgrades.

Good mourning Guys, I am getting ready to start the panel. I am looking at
the Flightline Fl-760 comm and basic minimal day VFR gauges ( airspeed,
altimeter, compass ) as I only intend on fair weather flying. I'll also need
a transponder. As for engine gauges, I'm going with the Grand Rapids EIS.
Suggestions would be appreciated. But before you comment, Keep in mind that
I'd like to do this with minimal spending that the KR name and history
implies. In other words, the cheaper the better. Hey, if this thing flies,
I'll upgrade it later.
