Did it again. What I said is that I have used rubbing alcohol to thin epoxy to use it as varnish before. It works great. When I built up my last set of spars I thinned the left over T-88 this way and painted it on and the results were very good. I buy my alcohol in a gallon can from Home Depot. I have heard that some rubbing alcohol from the drug store has some type of oil in it.
I believe it was Larry Flesner that posted the idea years ago about mixing up very dry micro that is light and easy to sand then mixing in some alcohol to make it thinner and easier to spread that I got that idea from. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: KR> They_don't_have_varnish From: "Mark Langford" <ml at n56ml.com> List-Post: krnet@list.krnet.org Date: Wed, January 01, 2014 7:27 am To: "KRnet" <krnet at list.krnet.org> If you send a message to the list and it arrives blank, the problem is almost certainly that you sent it as HTML rather than "plain text".
