I'm sure that would help, but I would use something that's much thinner than T-88, like Aeropoxy or West... whatever you're going to use for a fiberglass "lamination" epoxy. These will work without thinning, but some thinning will allow it to go on thinner and in a smoother layer that soaks in deeper and looks better.
